TEACHING METHODS OF THE TEACHER THAT YOU OBSERVED

The SEA Teacher program in Vietnam has several schedules, one of which is to conduct observations at the Future School. Two observations have been made, each with a different class. The first observation, namely group observation, took place on October 4 2024 in class 5Y guided by Ms. Yen Trinh. The learning process begins with an examination of student assignments, where students who have not completed the assignment will be asked the reason and reprimanded expressly to emphasize the importance of responsibility.

Meanwhile, on October 7 2024, individual observations were carried out in class 10S with the subject of Physics taught by Ms. Thanh Tuyen. Just like before, teachers check students' assignments first before moving on to the learning materials until the end of the session. This method shows consistency in teaching, where checking assignments is the first step before learning takes place.

LEARNING MATERIALS AND INNOVATION

Textbooks provided by schools are one of the main sources of learning. The textbook provides a basic foundation for students to understand the concepts taught. However, teachers do not rely solely on textbooks. Innovations in learning are carried out using various methods of delivering materials, such as the use of more interactive PowerPoint presentations, or direct explanations from teachers that allow adjustments based on student needs.

In addition, the presence of Smart TV in each classroom provides visual media that can enrich learning. The Smart TV is used to display content related to the topic being studied, thus helping students to visualize the material better.

Another innovation is also seen in the active learning approach, where students not only listen to explanations, but are also required to take notes and complete assignments. Topic-relevant hands-on activities and games are also introduced, providing a more real and contextual learning experience. The use of this variety of methods is an example of how innovations in learning can be applied to increase student engagement and understanding of the subject matter.

SOURCES AND TECHNOLOGY USED BY THE TEACHER

Based on the observations I made, Ms. Thanh Tuyen as a Physics teacher in class 10S used 3 books as sources in her teaching process, namely:

a. Vật Lí 10 (Students Book)

This book is the main book used by students in physics learning. The content includes subject matter in accordance with the official curriculum, with explanations of basic physics concepts, illustrations, sample questions, and exercises for students. This book focuses on students' understanding of physics concepts and serves as a guide for independent study.

b. Vật Lí 10 - Sách Giáo Viên (Teacher's Book)

This book is intended for teachers as a teaching guide. In it, there are teaching strategies, tips, and step-by-step guides to teach each topic in the student book. The book also provides solutions for practice questions, assessment methods, and the right pedagogical approach for each concept taught. The role of this book is to assist teachers in delivering material effectively in the classroom.

c. Chuyên Đề Học Tập Vật Lí 10

This book serves as a deepening of the material for students. The book is designed to explore specific physics topics in more depth, by providing additional challenges such as advanced questions, experimental activities, and projects that encourage critical thinking skills. The book can also be used as a reference for students who want to deepen their understanding or prepare for more difficult exams.

The technology used by teachers is a laptop connected to a Smart TV that has been provided by the school in each classroom as a process where he tries to display the material and other things he wants to teach.

AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT USED BY THE TEACHER

The authentic assessment applied by Ms. Thanh Tuyen as a physics teacher uses a point system to encourage active participation of students in learning activities. In this system, students have the opportunity to earn additional points through various activities, such as completing assignments on time, providing the right answers during class discussions, or even actively participating in answering questions asked during lessons. This approach not only assesses students' academic abilities, but also pays attention to their overall engagement, so it can motivate students to participate more and engage in the learning process.
